Cititour Review:

Potatopia is giving new meaning to "eat your carbs."  Potatoes are the stars here whether they are  smashed, baked, shoestrings or curly.  We counted ten different varieties. They all arrive in bowls on a conveyor belt fresh from the kitchen and that's where the fun really begins.

Next up, pick your veggies (broccoli, corn, sweet peppers and more) along with your choice of two different kinds of cheeses (asiago, cheddar, pepperjack, swiss etc). Then it's onto proteins which cost a bit more ($1 to $3.50).  Options include chicken, steak, sausage and shrimp.  You also get to pick one free sauce.

My concoction included shoestring potatoes that were nice and crisp like they were cooked on the spot. The potatoes also tasted fresh, not frozen.  I then added my veggies -- scallions and cilantro, along with swiss and pepperjack cheese. My protein was bacon and I topped it all off with BBQ sauce.  It tasted "spudtacular" and rang in at just under seven bucks.

There are also signature meals with names like Smashed Hit, Frequent Friers and the Comatoser which has a little bit of everything.  I didn't think people would fork up big bucks for fries, but judging by the lines, I guess I was wrong.
