You will be wanting more after a visit to Smør, a Nordic eatery in the East Village. The restaurant is bright and airy with light wooden tables and cushioned banquettes. The menu features a series of open-faced sandwiches, known as smorrebrød, served on a hearty rye. They include Chicken Salad with pickled shallot, bacon and beet, and Pickled Herring with créme fraiche, shallots, capers and dill. Other offerings include Avocado Toast, and a roast beef sandwich with remoulade, pickles and crispy onions. “Sweet-ish” things include pancakes with homemade jam and whipped cream.
