Cititour Review:

Sushi comes in all shapes and sizes.  From high-end spots like Nobu to new, must-haves like Sushi Nakazawa, not to mention scores of neighborhood spots and the short-lived Sakae Sushi where the sushi arrived at your table on a conveyor belt.

Enter Wasabi Sushi and Bento, a British Import, now in Times Square.  At Wasabi the sushi is not only being sold by the piece.  Each piece comes individually wrapped in clear plastic.  Some pieces are sold in pairs, while others are sold individually.  For instance, two pieces of "Tuna Nigiri" will set you back just $2.50.  It's a great way to create your own sushi meal without breaking the bank, although I could see some folks balking at having to unwrap each piece.

My meal consisted of seven pieces; two shrimp, two salmon, two slices of a veggy roll and one slice of chicken teriyaki.  The whole thing rang up at just under seven bucks.  Frankly, I was surprised by the absolute freshness of each piece.  Even a squirt of wasabi from a foil pack managed to pack quite a punch.  The restaurant is also serving Tamaki, a kind of sushi wrap, along with noodle soups, salads and bento boxes.

If Wasabi can keep the quality up it could become the next go-to spot for sushi in the city.
